On 20th October 2016, CEIA Director Matt Waldman gave a key note address at the Center for the Study of Crises and International Conflicts (CECRI) at the University of Louvain-le-Neuve near Brussels.
The lecture marked the inaugural session of 2016-17 doctoral seminars and covered a wide range of issues, including the multiple uses of empathy in resolving conflict, its limitations and the powerful reasons why empathy has not been fully acknowledged or institutionalised. The presentation was followed by a stimulating discussion with students, scholars and practitioners.
